The owner of Dara, red-eared slider drew the work of sumie painting that expresses the appearance of the
Rainbow Bridge in heaven to comfort a lot of people who feel sad by losing their loving turtles.
Rush in to summer

It is a scene on a day of rainbow bridge in summer. We can see Dara and Kamemi are acting act energetically there. They look to be too much fan and not to be able to stop moving.

In fact they seem to enjoy playing Rugby football. In rainbow bridge they apparently enjoy Rugby game a little earlier than many Japanese were hot on it.

"I will be there." Kamemi rushes.
On the other hand Dara takes a defensive action.

A lot of sunflowers support them.
They appear to be incarnations of turtles that came to rainbow bridge later than Dara and Kamemi did on the summer days as they did.

Going out

The story of this picture titled"Going out".is following.

The gate of "rainbow bridge" is usually closed not to enter there by mistake. But it was opened on a summer day when rose of Sharon were at their best. Kamemi noticed that, And said "I'll go out " and swam forward the gate with splashing of water.
She seemed to try to welcome new coming turtles not to make them unease and fear by confusion.

Dara look up such kamemi and said to her in a fluster. "Wait, Kamemi ! I want to go with you."

Thus new comers welcomed without any trouble and got used to new environment in "rainbow bridge" soon, All of them live happily.

In fact this story was put the thought of the painter's late mother.
The painter of this picture, Dara's mama asked her mother a little before her passed away what did she want to put into her coffin. Her answer was "casual wear that are comfortable to move around in". Because it is better than her precious Kimono　to guide her friends who will come later so that they can spend happily there without confusion. This episode tells us her thoughtful consideration to other people.

I want those who feel sad by pet loss to remember that rainbow bridge is always close to us and there are a lot of caretaker there.

The athletic meeting in "Rainbow bridge"

This is the special work for celebration of 50th anniversary of a society for smie painting. A lot of turtles that meet at the foot of rainbow bridge celebrate on a large scale while enjoying athletic meeting.

"Rainbow Bridge" is the place there are everything they need and they can live as they like there. They get absorbed in playing game the like each other there.

One makes balls for the shot‐put of
pill bugs. Other muscular turtle looks to be tired. Others are drunk. .A rabbit is taking a nap.

the group of Dara putting the crown "D" and the group of Kamemi putting the crown "K" play a tug of war and a mock cavalry battle around the center of ground.

Best friends Dara & Kamemi enjoy mock cavalry battle being helped a lot of friends. The group of D looked to be beaten. But.only enjoying is everything there. It doesn't matter if they win or lose at all actually.

It is so beautiful. It looks like a picture book.It was surprised me that the techniques of traditional art, sumie painting can be used to draw pop and pleasant work like this.

Invitation

Another work is set in Kameido tenjin shrine Known as the most popular place for Japanese wisteria viewing in Tokyo.

"We can see so beautiful flower of wisteria here. Why don't you see them, Dara ?"Kamemi looks to ask her best friend Dara to see wisteria viewing at Kameido tenjin It's marvelous !" Dara looks up at the long bunches of flower that she can see only here. Kamemi tries to hold up Dara's shell to be easy for her to look flowers.

This may be the a scene happened on the sad day, July 15, 2010 actually. It was the day when Dara was just about to go the rainbow bridge as if to run after Kamemi days after Kamemi's death. On that day, I just wandered at Kameido.to look for Kamemi's successor. Then I met baby turtle, Kurumi near the gateway of this shrine.

Just at that time, Dara & Kamemi may have talked about what turtle selected for me while they were seeing looking flower of wisteria like this.

It wasn't the season blooming flowers of wisteria when they had gone the rainbow bridge. But it is the place beyond time and space. They must have selected the most beautiful season and come here surely.

Shall we get together?

Kamemi approaches and talks to Dara being half asleep
"Shall we get together?"

The flowers of lotus are painted with turtles in this picture.
They say that the thicker mud is, the more beautifully lotus bloom flowers, not in the pure water..

Red eared sliders are suffering hardship like lepers in Japan recently. It seems that Dara & Kamemi become like lotus and work to change that their hardship (mud) to light under such a situation. The light of a rainbow reaches from heaven powerfully for helping them.

Not only turtles that have been loved by their owners also turtles that have treated like lepers and have not been loved by anyone will pass the bridge of rainbow with happiness as well.

"No problem ! Don't feel so sad, please!"
I think that they may try to give us a massage like that surely now.

The season when a flower blooms




Red-eared slider, Dara used to begin to lay eggs when flowers of dogwood are in full bloom and sometimes laid eggs at the base of the tree.And she sleeps under this tree now



Best friends in Heaven, Dara & Kamemi
are talking under the tree that Dara's flowers are blooming..
The gentle rainbow all over the sky.



We can feel the power of Dara that
still continues playing actively now.

Best friends in Heaven




Dara and Kamemi have gone to the bridge of rainbow in heaven by only two days apart. They are good friends though they couldn't meet each other in this world.

They two are talking with smile in the season of hydrangea when turtles become the most active of the year.

Using soft and bright color backs up still more pleasant and happy atmosphere in heaven.

The Tale of Rainbow bridge



One year and three months has passed since Dara and Kamemi had departed this world.

This is a work of sumi-e painting by the owner of Dara. Its title is "The Tale of Rainbow Bridge" Dara and Kamemi who met at the first time in the in Rainbow Bridge in Heaven are drawn on the picture.

Kamemi has rebuked Dara from the bottom of water hyacinths saying "It's too early for you to come here."

Many turtles live in the Rainbow Bridge in Heaven happily like this waiting the day when they will be able to see their loving someone there again someday.

I hope this picture help to comfort many owners who are feeling sad by losing their loving turtles as well as us.
