Turtle's town, Kameari (Tokyo)


Kameari is another turtle's town of Tokyo as well as Kameido.

There are a stone turtle with eyes and the explanatory board written the history of this town in the station square.

The front of its face.
The pattern of its skin or the part of its neck is also expressed carefully. It's nice turtle.

There are other turtles also near the above turtle.

They are a pair of turtles that get close to each other calmly in the bamboo grove, though it tends to be overlooked because it is gloomy there.

The stone plate beside them reads " Turtle's husband and wife"

They are a pair of stone‐carved guardian turtle Komagame.
They places at the gate or in front of a Katori to shrine at Kameari.

Turtles of a pair of stone- curve as guardian at Shinto shrine are very few because some of them are dogs.


They say that these were built by imitating the a pair of tiles shaped the turtle placed on the roof of the former shrine building instead in 2009.
Like new ones that they are, the design is modern.
The part of the pedestals of them looks to be expressed water.

The top of the stone explanatory board beside one of them reads "Family prosperity, Healthy long life"





The turtles could be found on the poles as bumping post between a sidewalk and a road in the shopping street
though they are veryｙ small.

I could get two kind of turtle's shaped food as a souvenir also this day.

At first,
the inside of this Japanese style package with the picture of the turtles are.....

turtle shaped rice crackers.

The rice cracker of various flavors is an assortment.

And another one is these sweets included in a box I bought at the cake shop.



Although we cannot imagine that the turtle's shaped sweets come out from such a nice box,
lovely turtles like this in it.

The shells made with three kinds of crunch chocolate, bitter chocolate,milk chocolate and white chocolate are on the turtle's shaped cookies.

And I could find　even such a nice cutout work looking picture of turtles in the washroom of the station on my way home.

A willow trees, the Japanese irises blooming at the waterside, and a lot of turtles. How tasteful view it is !
