This is Sakaturaisosaki shrine along coast in Ibaraki prefecture.
Traditional legend in this region has it that it is a lucky sign that sea
turtles are caught in the net during the time of fishing. And there is
a stone statue of sea turtle dedicated by a local people who is a winner
of a lottery in the corner of this shrine.
This turtle becomes a topic now.
People say that they can win a lottery when they buy the ticket after they
stroke the head of this turtle,and the reputation spreads through word
of mouth. So people who come here to stroke it even from far place become more and more recently.
